Celtic flop surely heading for exit door this summer after Scottish Cup exclusion

One Celtic player looks like he will be heading for the exit door after another exclusion from the squad.

A rebuild of epic proportions will be needed at Parkhead this summer as several players come to the end of their cycle.

There are long-term servants like James Forrest who will probably see their role reduced even further while others are in need of a fresh start somewhere else.

Last summer’s transfer window, on reflection, was very poor. Two of those signings have already left the club on loan and the Hoops will probably have to cut ties with one of the more expensive arrivals at the end of the season.
Michel-Ange Balikwisha is finished at Celtic
Another game day has been and gone and it is another one where Michel-Ange Balikwisha was nowhere to be seen.

Balikwisha wasn’t named in the squad for Celtic’s Scottish Cup win against Dundee just days after being taken out of the Europa League squad to accommodate for the new signings.

His last appearance was a sub-par showing against Auchinleck Talbot, where he missed a sitter and failed to leave his mark on a game against a non-league side.

He was one of the most expensive signings in the summer and cost Celtic £5.5m from Royal Antwerp after months of chasing the DR Congo international.
Who will take Michel-Ange Balikwisha?
It’s all well and good saying that a player no longer has a future at Celtic, but selling them requires an interested party to come in and make a bid.

The 24-year-old is still young and could blossom away from Glasgow, but the Hoops must be aware of the fact that they may not be able to recoup the fee they paid for him in 2025.

Had he not represented two clubs this season already, there may have been the chance to leave in January.
