A member of the Green Brigade has admitted that the group is bracing itself for a lengthy absence from Celtic Park, following their ongoing suspension.

The ultras have been barred from attending matches since November after an incident during a Premiership clash with Falkirk the previous month.

While interim chairman Brian Wilson recently spoke positively about the possibility of a resolution, that optimism does not appear to be shared within the supporters’ group. Speaking on The Cynic Weekly, a member named Martin suggested there is little confidence that a breakthrough is close.

He explained that, from the group’s perspective, discussions remain firmly in the club’s hands and insisted their demands have been reasonable. However, he indicated that informal signals coming from the club have been discouraging, with a belief that their proposals are unlikely to be accepted.

Martin also hinted that there may be deeper issues behind the scenes, suggesting the ban could remain in place regardless of any attempts to reach common ground.

In recent weeks, his own outlook has shifted. Although he had previously encouraged a more hopeful approach—urging dialogue and compromise—he now feels events are moving in a negative direction. Others within the group, who had long been doubtful about a positive outcome, appear to be proving correct.

When discussing a potential return before the end of the season, Martin admitted his confidence has steadily declined. While he has not completely given up hope, he now expects that the Green Brigade may not be back in the North Curve anytime soon.

He concluded by describing the situation as frustrating, acknowledging that the group’s future at the stadium currently feels beyond their control.
