Rangers and Celtic told to rival each other for ‘Rolls Royce’ star and midfield ‘rock’ as transfer advice sent
Rangers and Celtic have been told there are two domestic stars worth considering ahead of the summer transfer window.

Ibrox icon Barry Ferguson and Hoops hero Charlie Mulgrew have debated on Go Radio what players from other Premiership sides could make the step up to become players at either side of the Old Firm. One player who sprung to mind was Dundee centre-back Luke Graham, who has emerged as a top talent.

The Dark Blues resisted interest in him during January but have lost the likes of Lyall Cameron and Luke McCowan to Rangers and Celtic in recent years. Ferguson was asked if the Dundee defender is one that Celtic and Rangers should both be having their eye on for the summer. He responded: “Yeah, I would be all over the top of him.
Luke Graham to Rangers and Celtic transfer advice
You know, we speak of it as quite a lot. I think it’s important, certainly, I look at it from a Rangers point of view, having Scottish players. I spoke to Charlie before we came on air. I’ve watched him five or six times this year, and he’s getting better and better every time. Natural left side, good size. He’s done it the hard way as well. He’s went on loan to the lower league opposition.

“So he’s certainly done his apprenticeship and every time I watch him, he’s certainly a standout for Dundee. I think it’s important you have a Scottish core, I have always said that. Celtic have done it with Luke McCowan last season, Rangers did it with Lyall Cameron and I know he’s away to Aberdeen, but I think it’s important to look at home.”

Mulgrew added: “I heard there was a few teams in for him but no surprise after. I first saw him at Falkirk. He went on loan to Falkirk from Dundee. and he’s a left-sided centre-half, which a few and far between these days. A lot of teams are after that type. John McGlynn played him right-sided centre-half because obviously they had a left centre-half who was the captain.

Could Motherwell star sign for Rangers or Celtic?
“He played right-side, so that’s brought his game on as well. He’s now playing for Dundee and he looks like a Rolls Royce the way he reads the game. He can head the ball from his box. He looks mobile and a modern-day centre-back, he can play for the back. He’s comfortable in possession, so he’s somebody that I’m sure will be on the radar of Celtic and Rangers, potentially Hearts these days.”

Ferguson was asked if Elliot Watt should be in a similar category to Graham. The Motherwell midfielder has had a standout season at Fir Park since joining from St Johnstone and the Light Blues interested was reported during last month’s transfer window. Ferguson said: “Yeah, really good football player.

“He’s a player that I enjoy watching and he’s another one who’s had a fantastic season. So he’s still got a hell of a lot of football. He’s still got a bit of work to do but I just like the way that he goes about it. Very comfortable, very elegant on the ball but also outside that, he does the dirty side. He works really hard off the ball. Really well disciplined. So he’s another one everybody’s talking about. For me, he’s a rock in there, in the middle of the pitch and in the engine room. That’s the most important part of any team that I believe in. He’s certainly been a standout for Motherwell this season.”
